Candles can be a serious fire hazard if not used properly. The following are a few tips to help minimize your risk when burning candles.

Burn candles away from things that can catch fire (like bedding, curtains, decorations and clothing)

Keep burning candles out of reach of children or pets and away from drafts

Be sure to follow the burning instructions on the Warning sticker at the bottom of your candle

Keep wooden wicks trimmed before each use, to 1/4 of an inch.

Look for your wick ‘mushrooming’ and always trim these black bubbles

Burn candles in a well ventilated area and for no longer then 2 hours at a time.

Discontinue burning your candle when 1/2 an inch of wax remains and/or the wick detaches and moves off center. Be very mindful if your candle is loose, to monitor when there is an inch of wax left so that the wick does not slide to the side of the glass. if the flame touches the side of the glass, it can cause it to crack and break.

NEVER LEAVE A BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED.
